The brief: An automated pallet wrapping machine with rotating and hazardous parts and no proper safeguarding.
What we did: AMC carried out a full risk assessment to AS 4024, then designed, programmed, integrated and tested a complete safety system. We added a new safety control panel with a Pilz safety controller, Pilz light curtains with muting, interlocked access doors and e-stops. The hydraulic motor and main drives were brought under safety control with STO and monitored contactors. We finished with stopping-distance validation and full electrical schematics.
